The company reported impressive financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 and unveiled new cloud features. Annual recurring revenue rose by more than 30 percent to nearly $2.9 billion, with revenue from AI features exceeding $400 million for the first time. The net revenue retention rate has remained above 120 percent for more than twelve quarters. More than 7,500 organizations use the cloud platform, which processes over 33 billion conversations per year. New product focuses include agent orchestration, virtual agents, and an open ecosystem. Additional features will be available in the coming quarters.

At its own customer conference, Xperience 2026 in Las Vegas, Genesys presented both strong financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 and a range of new Genesys Cloud features. At the heart of the announcement is “agent-centric orchestration”—that is, the coordinated interaction of people, AI agents, systems, and workflows throughout the entire customer journey. The following article summarizes the company’s original press release.

Growth in Revenue and AI Revenue

Genesys Cloud achieved annual recurring revenue (ARR) of nearly $2.9 billion during the reporting period—an increase of more than 30 percent compared to the previous year. Particularly noteworthy: The portion of ARR directly attributable to AI capabilities exceeded the $400 million mark for the first time, growing more than twice as fast as the platform’s total ARR. Additional key figures from the announcement:

  • The net revenue retention rate has been above 120 percent for more than twelve consecutive quarters.
  • Total revenue grew by more than 20 percent in the first half of fiscal year 2027 compared to the same period last year.
  • The operating margin (GAAP and non-GAAP) was over 30 percent.
  • Free cash flow totaled more than $500 million during the same six-month period.

CEO and Chairman Tony Bates comments on the results as follows:

“Agent-based AI is transforming how companies operate around the customer. By orchestrating people, AI, systems, and workflows around customer intent, companies can create more impactful experiences that drive loyalty and growth.”

“Our momentum reflects a broader shift—away from AI experimentation and toward enterprise-wide scaling—and Genesys Cloud supports organizations through this transition by providing the context, governance, and orchestration they need to take this step with confidence.”

Platform Reach

According to Genesys, more than 7,500 organizations worldwide now use Genesys Cloud, including over 600 customers each with more than $1 million in ARR. Customers named in the press release include AAA Auto Club Enterprises, HSBC, Independence Blue Cross, IDEXX Laboratories, Nestlé, Riachuelo, Roche, Schneider Electric, Vanguard, and Vodafone, among others. Genesys provides the following figures regarding operational scale:

  • over 33 billion voice, digital, and AI-powered conversations per year,
  • more than 6.5 billion sentiment events processed per year,
  • over one trillion API calls annually,
  • more than 600 new Genesys Cloud features in the last twelve months.

Three new building blocks for agent-centric orchestration

Genesys announced three product priorities at Xperience 2026:

  1. Foundation for agent-centric orchestration. With Genesys Cloud Navigator, Genesys Cloud Orchestrator, Contextual Intelligence, and an AI Control Plane, the company aims to create an integrated foundation that enables organizations to identify customer intent, maintain context across channels, coordinate actions, and govern increasingly autonomous experiences.
  2. Further development of agent-based virtual agents. This includes the integration of Scaled Cognition’s latest “APT-2″ action model (“large action model”) from Scaled Cognition for greater AI reliability, more natural language and voice capabilities, new development and optimization tools, and deeper interoperability via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent standards (A2A). Through the recent acquisition of Pinkfish, the platform also gains access to more than 500 enterprise integrations and over 25,000 MCP-compatible tools.
  3. Expansion of the open ecosystem. New and expanded partnerships with Adobe, AWS, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Sierra are designed to offer customers more choice in AI, speech, messaging, and other enterprise technologies.

Availability According to Genesys, Contextual Intelligence, the AI Control Plane, the agent-based virtual agent featuring the Scaled Cognition APT-2 model, as well as new development tools and the Deepgram integration, are already available. Further releases have been announced for the coming quarters: the ElevenLabs integration in the third fiscal quarter of 2027 (August–October 2026), Genesys Cloud Navigator in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2027 (November 2026–January 2027), as well as Genesys Cloud Orchestrator and Adobe capabilities in the first fiscal quarter of 2028 (February–April 2027).
